Topic: NEVER OUTSHINE YOUR "STAR"
( ISAIAH 42:8; 1 CORINTHIANS 3:1-23).
There can be only on sun at a time! Stars are uncountable. They are meant to perform different functions and at different times. Nicholas Fouquet was French King Louis XIV’s Finance Minister during his first reign. In 1661, the Finance Minister died and Nicholas Fouquet was expected to be appointed into that office, though many thought he was best suited for the seat of the Late Prime Minister. Instead, the King abolished the office. Suspecting that he had fallen out of favor with the King, Fouquet decided to stage a party to show “ingratitude” to the King where he made him a guest of honor. This party was tagged, “The glamor of the time,” as it had the best and most brilliant of nobility in Europe at that time in attendance.
The party when on smoothly into the night and everyone called it the spoiler of that time! The next day, very early in the Morning, Nicholas Bouquet was arrested, tried and convicted for stealing the country’s money ( in actual fact, most of the stealing he was accused of, was perpetuated on the King’s behalf and with the King’s permission). Fouquet was imprisoned for over twenty years. Here was a man ( the King) who proudly once declared himself to be, “The State,” being jealous over an earthly, perishable position! But do you know that a greater than Louis XIV is your Lord and Star, Jesus of Nazareth?
Isaiah 42:8 declares: “I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.” God is jealous over His glory! Don’t be caught secretly sharing the glory with Him in your heart. No matter how the year has been, determine to continually acknowledge the God that raised Jesus Christ from dead as your helper and success secret. Rather than flatter and praise Louis XIV, Fouquet’s elaborate party offended the King’s dignity.
Louis did not admit this; instead, he found a very convincing and convenient excuse and opportunity to get rid of a man who had and would have made him feel very insecure, being the star of the day! Apply this principle to your God, your husband, your pastor, your office boss or your government!
Give honor to whom it is due! Wait for your season to be the boss and never deliberately outshine your “Star.” I see you rising! Amen!.

Message:
Do you know that every time God moves to deliver a helpless individual, He gets some form of glory from it? After God led the children of Israel out of Egypt and they were on their way towards the Red Sea, the Egyptians, forgetting all that they had suffered on account of the Israelites, resolved to go after them and bring them back. This was a serious problem for the Israelites, who had lived as slaves all their lives and were just experiencing freedom for the very first time. However, God did not leave them alone; in fact, He prepared Moses and Joshua to physically lead them while He provided spiritual direction and protection. On your way to the place of destiny, the Lord will not leave you alone. As he led the Israelites, so will He lead you in Jesus’ Name. Be assured in your heart that God will not allow your present predicament to drown you, because He knows that His intervention will definitely bring glory to His Name.

When God’s children were faced with the serious threat of returning to slavery, although they cried to God for help, one major reason why God intervened was because of the glory or honour He was going to get from it. If you are confronted with a situation you can easily come out of, or a situation someone can help you out with, either you or the fellow who helped you might want to take or partake of the glory when the problem is solved. In contrast to this, when you are pushed to a corner, with no specialist, parent, relative, friend or pastor to help, when God intervenes in such situations and the issue is resolved, He alone will take the glory. God does not like to share His glory with anyone or anything (Isaiah 42:8). Unfortunately, many people who give testimonies still share in or even completely rob God of His glory. The summary of their testimonies is that they prayed so much, fasted so long, gave a lot or were very smart and got their miracle because of this. Such people are glory thieves. There are many people who have done much more than they did and yet their situations have not changed. God can step into your situation because of the glory He will get from it, so never tamper with His glory.
Action Point:
Man has problem and wants a solution. God gives the solution and wants the glory. Never allow anything to tamper with God’s expectation!

Present-hour Truths
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart (2 Corinthians 3:3).
The epistles are special out-breathings of the Spirit addressed to the new man in Christ, and they mostly consist of present-hour truths. When you study the Pauline revelations, Peter’s epistles and some of John’s Spirit-inspired thoughts, you’d discover truths that are operative in the “now” of our lives.
For example, Paul tells us, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature...” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This isn’t history, a prophecy, or a promise. You aren’t going to become a new creation when you get to heaven or after you’ve prayed hard enough; you’re a new creation NOW! It’s a fact for today.
Another beautiful present-hour fact is 1 Peter 2:9. It says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” You were created to display and manifest the beauty, glory, excellence, holiness, grace, and righteousness of God. This is your calling in Christ Jesus.
When you study Revelation 1:6, you find yet another operative truth: “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” This isn’t something to hope for; it’s already happened. You’re a king-priest, ordained of God to reign in life; to decree a thing and have it established unto you.
Another of such glorious realities is that you’re an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ! “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…” (Romans 8:17). This means everything that belongs to Him belongs to you in the same way and degree that they belong to Him. Both of you own everything one hundred per cent together! Therefore, like Him, you’ve also been appointed heir of all things. It’s for the same reason that Paul said, “…all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21).
These are some of the truths about the new creation, which, as a Christian, you must be conscious of and live by. Study the Word to know more, and live in the reality of who you are in Christ!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for imparting me with the knowledge of the truths in your Word, which are operational in the “now” of my life. I’m enlightened in my spirit to grasp deeper and higher truths in your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Acting President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has expressed sadness over the death of Chukwuma Onuekwusi, the Channels TV State House Correspondent. At the same time, he has condemned the suicide bombing in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Spokesman, Laolu Akande, said Osinbajo extended heartfelt condolences to Onuekwusi’s family as well as Channels TV family on the very sad passing of Onuekwusi.
“He also commiserates with the State House Press Corps over the passage of their professional colleague, who combined high professionalism, with dedication and patriotism in his diligent reportage of activities in the Presidential Villa.

A Real Spiritual Birth
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Being born again is much more than changing your behaviour or turning over a new leaf. When you received Christ into your life, something actually happened; there was a real spiritual birth. You were born of the Word of God and the Spirit of God. That’s how come you have the life, nature and character of God in your spirit; it’s a completely new life.
Romans 6:6 says, “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” The “old man,” the life you had before you were born again, isn’t suspended; it’s dead. You’re a new man. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The Greek rendering of the expression “new creature” refers to a new species of being; one that never existed before—one without a past.
In the presence of God, everything you were, and did before you were born again never existed; there’s no record, because you’re a new creation, a new being. Christians who are ignorant of this are held in bondage to their past, which invariably makes them ineffective in the things of God.
Understand that your spirit has come alive to God, and seeks only to please Him and do His will now that you’re born again. You might ask, “How come some people still do the wrong things even after they’ve been born again?” The truth is, those things don’t come from their human spirit, but from the “unrenewed” mind and the senses. This is the reason you must keep renewing your mind with the Word. Keep learning, meditating on, and living the Word. That way, you’ll train your spirit to rule over your mind and the flesh.
You’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You’ve been born into a newness of life; live accordingly.
CONFESSION
I live in victory, and walk in righteousness. The Word of God renews my mind, strengthens my spirit, and purifies my soul. The glory of God is revealed in me today as I meditate on the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ALL MUST SHARE ALIKE..........!
( 1 SAMUEL 30:11-31).
Note Vs. 24 of today’s scripture (NIV): “The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.” Note the words: “ALL WILL SHARE ALIKE.” No wonder David was unstoppable despite his many troubles! If David had felt that it was his military intelligence and wisdom that had given him the victory over the Philistines, then he would have forgotten the men that did not step into the war front. But he said: “ALL WILL SHARE ALIKE.” That meant that the man who actually fought the battle at the war front and the man that stayed the same home to do other essential duties of the State would share the same glory.
When you feel that your success is not dependent on others, then you will dry up very soon. But do you know that there are so many war fronts in Life? And do you know that even in the things of God in this year 2017 or beyond, ALL WILL SHARE ALIKE? Yes, the Pastor who is seen on TV or on the pulpit daily will share with that hidden, prayer warrior who is unseen, but faithful! Yes, the evangelist who stands before a crowd of millions will receive the same reward as the Pastor, who Pastors just 20 members if that is God’s will for him/ her! Do you know that not everyone is called to Pastor or to speak to a mega crowd?
Do you also know that the cleaner of a local church will share alike with the General Overseer if they are both in the will of God? Yes, the cleaner in the war front is like the Pastor in the war front! Wow! Thank you Holy Ghost! So use today’s devotional to remember those that have contributed to where you are today! Remember that pastor that helped you! Remember that person whose phone call helped you in the past! Remember that parent/guardian! Remember those who work with /for you. Remember your spouse/
children/true friends. If you think you are superman and forget them, then, your name would soon be written on water-Forgotten!
