“This is going to be the biggest tax cut and the largest tax reform in the history of our country and we are committed to seeing this through," Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said during a morning forum sponsored by The Hill.
Republicans greeted news of the tax cut plan enthusiastically, though some GOP members and Democrats worried that the plan would further increase federal debt, cutting taxes without increasing income or cutting other parts of government.
"The Trump tax plan does not pay for itself" and "doesn’t even come close," said Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif. "America is a great nation, but we haven’t yet discovered magic."
Aides said Trump will call for a sharp cut in the corporate tax rate, from 35% to 15%. He will also call for lowering the rates for so-called “pass-throughs” or "S corporations," small organizations that currently file returns under the individual tax code. Tax rates for individuals would also be lowered, with fewer tax brackets overall.
The package to be released Wednesday is not expected to include infrastructure programs, a child care tax credit, and other items to be introduced in later months, officials said.
While Trump will push for higher standard deductions, allowing filers to shield more income from taxation, it is not yet clear what the new deductions would be. Filers can currently claim standard deduction of $6,300 for individuals and $12,600 for married couples filing jointly.
The administration had originally planned to roll out their tax reform plan later this year. But Trump announced last week he would unveil it Wednesday, part of a week-long series of events leading up to his 100th day in office on Saturday.
Mnuchin wouldn't put a time frame on congressional approval, saying that "we’re working hard to get it done quickly.”
House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said "Today, the administration will outline its principles for pro-growth tax reform, which is a critical step forward in this effort. Pro-growth tax reform means that we will have lower rates, we will have a simpler tax code with fewer brackets, and we will have an IRS that exists only to serve the taxpayer."
While the Treasury Secretary and other officials said the tax cuts would stimulate the economy and generate economic growth to increase government revenues, some members of Congress expressed skepticism about those projections.
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., the chamber's top Democrat, said his party would fight any plan that benefits the rich at the expense of the middle class.

It what is now the major talking point in Ibadan - Nigeria, the fiery Prophet of God popularly called The Oracle was again on duty doing His Father's business at the University of Ibadan while he is having a 2 day crusade.
The duo of Mrs. Comfort Gabriel and her daughter Fumilayo both collapsed when they realised that the family of 6 would no longer be running from the landlord due to their inability to pay their one year rent which stood at forty thousand naira (N40,000).
The Man of God who had earlier located the younger Gabriel through a Prophetic insight had accurately mentioned the travails of the family in recent times which he declared that "Their time for restoration has come"
When the Man of God heard N40,000 in his Spirit and mentioned it, he didn't know what specifically it meant until they told him it was the money they owed the landlord.
Laughing majestically he responded; 'You do not need to bother God about that, i will settle it".
He went ahead and announced the payment of a 10 years rentage settlement to the tune of four hundred thousand naira (N400,000) and immediately gave them N200,000 while the other part would be given to them tomorrow for security reasons.
Jesus is Lord.
Mrs. Comfort Gabriel from Akingbile in Ibadan and her children have been sneaking into their house for the past one year because of the inability to pay the house rent. As a result, the landlord has been disturbing them with so much restless attacks day in day out.
Well, all that is history now as God decided to use His Servant to wipe away their tears by paying their rentage for the next ten years, a whopping N400 ,000.
The encounter happened in the evening of monday 24th April 2017 at the Chapel of Resurrection, University of Ibadan (UI) in the on going Help from Above invasion of the institution being organised by the Joint Christian Campus Fellowships (JCCF).
The rent which was accurately revealed by the Prophet of God as well as other detailed information of the family led to widespread jubilation in the crusade venue.
He proceeded to give the lady Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) immediately and will be completing it in the next evening meeting (probably for security reasons).
This is no news to followers of the Man of God as he continue to demonstrate his love and compassion for people, fulfilling his mandate to WIPING OUT TEARS from them in any way he can.

MESSAGE
Expectedly, you may be wondering what God is not interested in. God is not interested in the death of a sinner (2 Peter 3.9). Many sinners don't even know that God has no delight in condemning them. It is therefore necessary that those who know this truth should make it known to them.
"Again when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.” Ezekiel 33:14-15
It is clear from the above Scripture that God is not interested in the death of any sinner, but desires that the sinner repents and turns away from his or her wicked ways. It is amazing that God Almighty promised that none of the sins committed by a converted sinner will be remembered any more. God is always wanting to restore fellowship with His human creation back to what it was in the beginning, if only they would appreciate His love for them. Jesus Christ in John 15:13 said:
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
If indeed we are the friends of Jesus, we then must do whatever He commands us to do (John 15:14). Are you a friend of Jesus or willing to be one? lf you are willing to be a friend of Jesus, you must accept Him today, because tomorrow may be too late. The Bible says:
"For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2
For believers who would aIways pray that sinners should "fall down and die", I will like to admonish you to stop wasting your time, because if the fellow you are praying against is a candidate for salvation in the future, your prayers may be an exercise in futility. This is why the Lord God said vengeance is His (Romans 12:19). May God fill our hearts with the compassion of Christ, so that we can be more concerned about the salvation of sinners rather than their death!
Prayer Point:
Father, fill my heart with the compassion of Jesus, so that I would care for sinners even as You do.

TOPIC:
DON'T NEGLECT YOUR SOURCE.
TEXT:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto unto you. " Matthew 6:33.
God always let His people know that they should live in abundance and not in lack. However, the Lord Jesus made it plain in His teachings that we are to seek the kingdom of God and not seek material possessions. Wealth and riches cannot make you happy, so don't be deceived. There are many wealthy people who are miserable. The Lord Jesus said, ".... a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth." (Luke 12:15) and how true the statement is! Don't crave for material possessions, rather, seek God passionately.
When your focus is on God, all other things will fall into place. He has said all things are yours for you are Abraham seed 1Corinthians 3:22. Remember a branch can only bear fruit it it remains in the vine. Likewise if you want if you want to live a productive life, you must never neglect your "source". God is your source, for he is the one who brings all these blessings into your life according to his fantastic promises in Deuteronomy 28:2 " And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shall hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God." that means all the wealth of this world belongs to Him. I pray for you that God's blessings shall come upon you this season in Jesus name.
PRAYER
My father, my maker, you are the source of wealth and riches, as I pray now, help me not to shift my focus from you.
TOPIC
Use your faith
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3).
Acts 14 tells us that Paul was preaching in a city called Lystra, and he noticed a certain man who was crippled from his mother’s womb: “And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked. The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked” (Acts 14:8-10).
When the man heard the Gospel from Paul, it imparted faith to him, but faith alone didn’t do him good. He was still crippled, even though he had faith. His faith was so palpable that Paul noticed it; he perceived that the man had faith to be healed.
It’s the same predicament that many are in today in the body of Christ; they have faith, yet they’re snowed-under by the adversities of life, living as victims. Their problem is that they’re not using their faith. Faith is like currency; you have to use it. It’s like money in your account, wallet or in your pocket; it won’t do anything for you just because you have it; you must put it to use.
The Bible says, “...Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone” (James 2:17). That means faith without corresponding actions; faith that’s not used, is dead. Imagine if the crippled man had argued and hesitated when Paul told him to stand up; he would have neutralized his own faith. But the moment he acted on the Word, his faith was activated and a miracle ensued.
The issue oftentimes isn’t that God’s people don’t have faith; every Christian has faith. The problem is that many aren’t using their faith. Faith must be active and not passive. Use your faith today.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for imparting faith to my spirit through the Word. I use my faith today by my corresponding actions and verbal expressions, in line with your infallible and eternal Word. Thus, I live above the adversary and all adversities of life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MOVE FROM YESTERDAY!
( DEUTERONOMY 1:1-7).
Thank God you are alive to witness the great year called 2017! You must understand that your past is important, but it is not nearly as important to your present as in the way you see your future. If you learn from the defeat/mistakes of the past, then you haven’t really lost. In this second quarter of 2017, God wants you to move from yesterday! Yes, you have fasted and prayed in the past, you have sown seeds in the past, you have practiced holiness/obedience in the past and yet you still experienced certain disappointments here and there.
What God is saying to you through today’s devotional is that, it is not over and your past labor is not in vain. Do you know that your enemies were also disappointed that you made it thus far? But do you know that they have determined never to give up on you? So, why will you give up on God and your golden future? Forget your past pain! I repeat as I have often been led to counsel/ write: Stop playing the old love songs you used to share with the lover who jilted you. Stop driving by that person’s house if possible! Stop staring at old pictures and stop reading old love letters because that person was destined to be a part of your future history. Look into the future because it is carrying your EVIDENCE. Stop rewinding your mind to the business partner who betrayed you or your trusted relatives / friends who scandalized you.
No matter how your past was, heaven is saying afresh: “MOVE FROM YESTERDAY.” You have dwelt long enough on this mountain of the past. Do you know that Mount Horeb( a part of MT. Sinai) was the pinnacle where the burning bush was revealed and the 10 commandments given? God hates your being connected to the past and remaining there! The key is verse 7: “TURN YE! It means, “turn and advance” (NIV). Forget the past! YOUR BEST DAYS ARE STILL AHEAD and I see a great testimony which shall be the EVIDENCE that you serve “Jehovah Over Do!” This is your year! Amen!

PASSION FOR SOULS
Scriptural Reading: ‘For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!’ 1Corinthians 9:16.
Child of God, the things that matter to you are revealed in your passion. When you study the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus, you will discover that helping people and teaching people about God’s kingdom (that is, soul winning) were His passion. Therefore, little wonder at His willingness to lay down His life for the same purpose.
When you come to the Lord Jesus, the first thing He does is to ignite the same passion in you. Everyone associated with the Lord Jesus become a passionate soul winner. Your love for Him is expressed in your passion to see souls come into God’s kingdom. The Apostle Paul’s undying passion for the Lord translated into his passion for the gospel and for the souls of men (Acts 1:8). Such was Paul’s burning desire to see men come to know the Lord Jesus the same way he knew Him, that he stopped at nothing to spread the gospel, in spite of the great persecutions (Romans 1:14-15). You must recognize that you are also a debtor to your world. You owe the people in your sphere of contact this message of God’s great for mankind. You must tell someone or others about Jesus. Be remembered as someone with a passion for the souls of men.
Prayer: O Lord, as I pray now, show me mercy and stir up a greater passion for souls in my heart today.

MESSAGE
Many children of God dread prosperity because of the challenges associated with it, particularly when it relates to material prosperity. The reason for this attitude can be put down to either ignorance of the word of God concerning prosperity, or ignorance of the need for the children of God to prosper, if they would not live at the mercy of the ungodly. The Bible in Proverbs 22:7 says,
“The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”
In our Bible reading today, we discover some truths about Gods purpose concerning the prosperity of His people. Deuteronomy 8:18 says,
"But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."
God gives power and opportunities to His children to get wealth for one singular reason: to prove Himself faithful to His word. In other words, the issue of God’s children becoming wealthy is not about them but about God and His infallible word. This is why those who pick and choose what they feel is suitable for them in the word of God are losers; God cannot be mocked. Such people want the blessings of Abraham, but do not want to keep the covenant that Abraham kept with God. Jesus in John 8:30d said;
"If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham"
Beloved, I have good news for you: God is interested in the prosperity of His people (3 John 2). Not only is God interested in your prosperity, He also gives you the power to make wealth and to prosper. Furthermore, the prosperity from God is without negative repercussions and sorrow. The Lord who prospers is the same Lord who protects. He will not give you a car that will become a death trap. He will not give you a child that will break your heart. If you believe this, you will see the glory of God. Finally, in order to receive the prosperity that is devoid of sorrow, you must ensure that the prosperity you are seeking is from the Almighty God. This suggests to us that there is a counterfeit prosperity which puts its beneficiaries in tight jackets of regret and sorrow. The devil is the giver of counterfeits, but Jesus is the true source of eternal blessings. You can never regret being prospered by His benevolence because He paid the price for your prosperity in full. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says,
"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”
Key Point:
Stop cutting corners. At God’s own time and in God's own way, He will prosper you.

We’re His Light In A Dark World
Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name (Psalm 74:20-21).
The Hebrew word translated “earth” in the scripture above also refers to world or nations. The dark places of the earth or of the nations are places where cruelty and wickedness have found a breeding ground. They refer to injurious and m`alevolent lands and environments; places governed by agents of darkness and the principalities of evil.
God’s answer to the cries coming from these dark regions is first, His Word. He sent His Word in the Person of Jesus. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” John 1:14 says the Word became flesh, and dwelt amongst us. God’s solution was packaged in the Man, Christ Jesus, who came as the Saviour and Light of the world. However, after His crucifixion, burial and resurrection, He ascended to heaven, commissioning us, the Church, to continue the work that He started.
Isaiah 53:10 says, “…he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.” We’re His seed, and through us He heals, delivers, and saves today. We’re His light in a dark world. When Jesus came, He said, “…I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). Then in Matthew 5:14, He said concerning us, “Ye are the light of the world….”
The dark places of the earth might have been filled with the habitations of cruelty, but you’re the one to do something about it. You’re the solution to the darkness in the world. No wonder He says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
Good works are the works of Christ in salvation, healing and deliverance. As we all carry out these good works in our respective spheres of contact, evil, darkness, wickedness and unrighteousness will recede, and the glory and light of God will fill our lands.
CONFESSION
I’m the light of the world, and my light shines ever so brightly. I bring peace, harmony, deliverance, and righteousness to men’s lives everywhere, because I’m the seed of Jesus Christ, His partner in soul-winning. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, I’m turning men and women from darkness to light, and to become partakers of God’s grace and love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

In an escalating war of words with the U.S., North Korea warned Thursday of a "super-mighty preemptive strike" that would reduce American military forces in South Korea and the U.S. mainland "to ashes," according to The Rodong Sinmun, official newspaper of North Korea's Workers' Party.
The report, carried by Reuters, also warned the U.S. and its allies "should not mess with us."
The latest bellicose statement follows North Korea's weekend display of military hardware in a parade marking the birthday of its founder Kim Il Sung and two attempted missile tests, one of which failed.
The U.S. has stepped up its warnings to North Korea over its missile program and nuclear weapons tests. Vice President Mike Pence, on a tour of the region, warned this week that “the era of strategic patience is over” when it comes to U.S. policy toward North Korea.
Pyongyang periodically warns Washington of the dire consequences of taking on North Korea militarily. One propaganda film last year featured animation of a North Korean, nuclear-tipped ICBM striking New York City.
Igbo have been marginalised in this country for so many years. It didn’t start with this administration. It is a known fact that after the civil war, we got marginalized in every form economically, socially and we have not been getting the kind of appointments we are supposed to get. Within this administration, we have complained so much about the Igbo marginalization. The Igbo voted for the PDP during the last election because most of their leaders at the time belonged to the PDP because, for the first time in the history of Nigeria, we had a President that appointed Igbo to very sensitive positions.

Scriptural Reading:
‘If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?’. 1John 4:20.
This scripture reveals a principle in God’s word which let us know that if you can love your brother or sister whom you see, then you can love God. But if you cannot love your brother, it means you cannot love God whom you don’t see.
God has honoured you by making you His child and bringing you into fellowship with him. You must reciprocate this gesture by honouring Him in the way you deal with others. Always remember that He resides inside each and every one of His children. Therefore, the kind of relationship you have with your brother or sister in the Lord is very important, as you are actually relating with God through them. According to Bible, we did not do anything to deserve salvation, for salvation is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8). When you understand this truth, you will no longer demean or speak evil of anyone. When you recognize that you are who you are only by grace of God, you will never condemn anyone. A Christian has no right to condemn another Christian, for the Bible says, ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus’ (Romans 8:1). We only have right to bless and inspire one another. Even if you were hurt by a brother or sister (members) in the Lord or any other person, it is not your place to avenge their wrongdoing.

CURE FOR BACKSLIDING
Memorise:

3:11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
3:12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger forever.
3:13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

MESSAGE
Backsliding is such a terrible condition that any child of God who backslides must quickly seek for restoration. The danger with backsliding is that a backslider may perish with his or her enemies like Samson did, or lose all he or she had gained in God like Judas lscariot (Judges 16:30, Acts 1:16-20). The good news is that God has provided a remedy for backsliding. In today's Bible reading, we see the loving God calling and inviting backsliding Israel back to Himself. This is a pointer to the fact that God wants to restore all backsliders.
"Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every tree and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:"
Jeremiah 3:13-14
The above verses of Scripture contain the cure for backsliding. Restoration for the backslider starts with an acknowledgment of sins and a contrite return to God. In other words, the cure to backsliding lies in genuine repentance. Repentance is a complete turnaround from one's sins with a determination never to return to those sins any more. This was what Samson failed to do throughout his twenty years of being judge over Israel. To make matters worse, he always ascribed his victory and achievement to his strength. Hear what he said after one of his victories in Judges 15:16:
"...With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.”
There is no record of him giving glory to God even once. When he should have prayed for mercy, he prayed a wrong prayer, asking God to strengthen him one more time, so that he could avenge his eyes! Due to the mercy of God, and because the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, God still granted him his request, and he died with his enemies (Romans 11:29, Judges 16:28-30). In Acts 3:19, we see some of the great benefits of repentance. These include forgiveness, the blotting out of sins and the experience of a time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. Beloved, are you in a backslidden state? I encourage you to return to God through the Lord Jesus Christ today. Read 1 John 2:1-2 for a better understanding of your heritage in Christ. As you do these, the joy of salvation and the victory over sin will be restored to you.
Action Point:
Pray for restoration if you a backslider. If by His grace you are still standing, pray that you will not backslide, and also pray for all backsliders in the Body of Christ that you know.

1. Today’s scripture says that when God remembers you, He will send the WIND ( the Holy Ghost) first, which will make the WATER(S) (Problems) confronting your life to recede! Always pray in 2017: “O Lord, Send the WIND and cause every water ( problem) in my life to recede” ( Pray it well now)!
2. Today’s scripture also says: “And God remembered Noah.” Father, remember …..( mention your names ) today and in 2017 for good and turn me into an EVIDENCE LAND ( Pray it well now)!

Today’s scripture says: “And God remembered Noah and every living thing……..with him in the ark.” When God remembers you, He remembers all the things and people that are in your ark ( your family or household, your work, your helpers, etc). Pray for your family members and helpers seriously today now!
4. Genesis 19:29: “………..God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.” Pray for the “Lots” ( Your spouse, children and helpers, etc), again now! He’s Brought You Into “A Large Place”
He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me (Psalm 18:19).
“A large place” means a wealthy place; being born again, you’re the seed of Abraham, and a joint heir with Christ. Effectively, this means the whole world belongs to you. It’s too late for you to be poor or be counted as the poor. The only way you can be poor is by choice or ignorance, because God has already brought you out of poverty into your wealthy place.
2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” Notice that it doesn’t say, “…so that ye might pray to be rich,” no; He’s already done it. In Christ Jesus, you’ve been made rich. The Holy Spirit, writing to the Church through Paul, declared, “…all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). Refuse to think small or see yourself as small; you own this world.
Another beautiful thing is that everything that belongs to you is perfect; your portion is the good one. The Psalmist said in Psalm 16:6: “The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.” Some Christians don’t realize this; so they envy others and covet what belongs to others; there’s no need for that. You have “a goodly heritage”; an incorruptible inheritance, with your name on it.
Acknowledge, and affirm this truth about yourself and walk in the light of it. God has given you all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3); they’re in your spirit. Therefore, have no sense of lack, disadvantage, or limitation. Whatever you’re looking for, be it spiritual or material, pull it out from within, for out of your spirit are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for blessing me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus. I acknowledge, and walk in the fullness of your blessings in my life. I’m the seed of Abraham, a joint-heir with Christ; the world belongs to me. I lack nothing, because you’ve graciously granted me all things that pertain to life and godliness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

We do not have a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. The bible says, ‘Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin! Heb. 4:15(EV).
He knows what you are going through.
He sees your tears and understands your pains. So stop crying! Dry your tears because Jesus has settled every pain or situation that should make you cry. He suffered the shame, took away your pains upon Himself and gave you His glorious life when He said, ‘it is finished’ just before He gave up the ghost on the cross of Calvary. In Isaiah 54:4 God said, Fear not, for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood anymore’. He does not want you to talk about the shame you experienced anymore. Don’t remind yourself about it for He is starting glorious things in your life today (Psalm 30:5). Nothing, no one, no weapon anywhere can put you to shame. God is with you, therefore, you have no cause to worry.

14:8 And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.

MESSAGE
Yesterday, we established that backsliding is a gradual process that remains hidden in the heart and only begins to manifest after it has gotten out of hand. In today's memory verse, we discover one factor that brings about backsliding: the love of the world. 1 John 2:15-16 says,
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
This Bible passage reveals the character of the love of this present world, by which the heart of Demas, a companion of Paul, was stolen away from the straight and narrow way (2 Timothy 4:10). How far have you been drawn away from the narrow path which you have been treading on for so long? ls the relativism philosophy of this present world doing great damage to the faith which you once had? How far have you been drawn away by the pleasurable things of life? My prayer for you is that the flre of the flrst love you had for Christ will be reignited, and that you will relate with God and the things of God like when you flrst believed in Him in Jesus' Name.
Taking a closer look at the life of Samson as a case study of the backslider-in-heart, one lesson we can learn from today's Bible reading is that the backslider-in-heart can still be preaching, ministering in songs, doing all kinds of work of the ministry, and even performing miracles, while in the process of backsliding. Although Samson was going down into abomination, when a lion roared against him, he responded with the same ability of the spirit he always had. Judges 14:6 says:
"And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done."
As if marrying a Philistine was not enough, on his next trip to Timnath, he went to admire the relics of his conquest, the carcass of a lion he had killed. Behold, the devil had set up a honeycomb right there in the carcass of the dead lion to ensnare him, and Samson fell for it,' even though he knew that a Nazirite must
not touch the dead body of an animal (Numbers 6:12-8). Samson's stomach and
taste continued to lead him on his downward slide towards destruction, just as they did to Esau (Hebrews 12:16-17). My prayer for you is that your appetite for the things of the world will not destroy you in Jesus' Name.
Prayer Point:
Father, don't let what I love destroy me, and don't let me love what would destroy me.

WASHINGTON ( Reuters)- A Lawyer for the engineer of a New Jersey commuter train that crashed in Hoboken in late September 2016, killing one person and injuring more than 100 others, said his client had since been diagnosed with sever sleep apnea, which can cause drowsiness. Apnea is a temporary cessation of breathing, especially during sleep. The disclosure came six weeks after officials of the American National Transportation Safety Board ( ANTSB) said the engineer had told investigators who interviewed him that he was fully rested at the time of the train wreck but had no memory of it.
Goodness! A train engineer ( driver) losing his memory during the journey. What a world! This engineer had rested very well but was attacked during the journey. It is possible for your plane’s pilot to fall sick and lose memory during the flight. Yes, it is possible for your vehicle driver to lose temporary consciousness while driving and at that moment, you are on your own with your God. As the year progresses, you must look daily to the Pilot of Pilots, Engineer of engineers, the Driver of drivers, Teacher of teachers and Physician of physicians. He is the Banker of bankers, the President of presidents, He is the General of generals, King of kings and Emperor of emperors.
He does not sleep; He does not slumber! He will secure you and stop whatever He has not planted in your life, family and ministry. Fear not! Put your trust in Him. That’s why you must not worry about events beyond your control. Give that battle to God and you can sleep in peace because He does not sleep. God’s love for you is so large and it will confront every insecurity or battle that is determined to steal your sleep. Max Lucado describes the love of God massively this way: “ Jesus Christ humbled himself, He went from commanding angels to sleeping in the straw. From holding stars to clutching Mary’s fingers.
The Palm that held the universe took the nails of soldiers. Why? Because that’s what love does; it puts the beloved before itself.” God does not sleep nor slumber because of you! So why worry when God is “worrying” for you? Rejoice! Look up! Hold on! Hold out! Pray now!

Prevailing In The Evil Day
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world (1 Peter 5:8-9).
Ephesians 6:13 says, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day….” The evil day is when all hell breaks loose against you; it’s when the doctor suddenly announces that there’s trouble in your body! The evil day is when challenges suddenly arise at work; it’s a figurative expression for the day of crisis.
This is why, as a Christian, it’s so important that you learn the Word of God in the days of peace, and have it inside you, so that in the day of crisis, you’ll be undaunted. This is because in the day of crisis, it’s only what you have inside you that’ll put you over. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Some people wait until trouble strikes, and then they start praying and trying to act their faith, no; faith and desperation are two different things. Such folks are merely pushing the panic button, out of desperation. They didn’t grow their faith when they needed to; hence they panicked in the day of adversity. Faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God; it’s not something you push from the mind; it’s from your spirit. It’s the reason you must keep inundating your spirit with the Word of God.
God wants us to win always; He created us to be victors. He gave us dominion over circumstances. Rather than be overwhelmed with fear when you face dire situations, use your faith; exercise your authority in Christ. We have something we can use. We have authority in the Name of Jesus. You can use that Name against any demon. You can use it to improve your job, your finances, your health, your family—everything about your life! You can win every day by acting on God’s Word.
PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the ability of the Word to produce results in my life. I’m an overcomer in all things because your Word has infused me with the ability to do the impossible. Hallelujah!

BACKSLIDER-IN-HEART I

14:2 And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.
14:3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
Message:
Backsliding is not an event but a gradual process that occurs over a period of time until it gets to a noticeable stage. At that stage, people will begin to say an individual has backslidden, but what they fail to realise is that it did not start at that point. Backsliding begins in the heart. When a believer becomes filled with his or her own ways, that believer has begun to backslide. That person would always be right in his or her own sight, and others would be wrong. Such a person would no longer take advice from anybody, becoming a loner. ln today's
Bible reading, we see the case of Samson, an anointed Nazirite to the Lord, who began to backslide right from his heart. The way today's Bible reading begins is significant: "And Samson went down...". When a person begins to go down, may the Lord have mercy on him or her. As he went down, he saw an abomination that enticed him: a Philistine woman. He came to his father and mother to tell them of his intention to marry the Philistine woman. His parents counselled him against this abominable desire, but regardless of their warning, Samson said "Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well."
When a child of God begins to nurse the idea of getting engaged to an unbeliever, no doubt, he or she has started backsliding in the heart. An unbeliever should not be an attractive option for a genuine child of God. A female child of God should flnd it repugnant for a smoker or drunkard to become her husband;
after all, such a person will get intimate with her after wedlock with smoky lips or a mouth saturated with alcohol. A Christian brother should also see it as degrading to be married to a lady operating under the influence of the spirit of Jezebel — knowing full well how Jezebel destroyed her husband (Ephesians 2:2, 1 Kings 21 :25). You are influenced by the environment you live in and the people you are intimate with. An unbelieving woman or man will act as a weight around your neck, dragging you down to the pit of hell. The different abominable things going on in the world are enough to deter a genuine child of God from marrying a person who is not under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Such a person is not restrained from doing whatever the devil suggests to his or her heart and does not share the same standard of the word of God as a moral compass for life. Today, we hear of wives sleeping with drivers and domestic staff, and we also hear of husbands sleeping with housemaids and their wife's sisters -things that are abominable in the sight of God. Do you know that an unbeliever might not flnd these things abominable? lt is a terrible thing to be associated with an "uncircumcised Philistine" in these end times. Beware of backsliding!

Forgive and forget is not the same thing as revenge and regret. Robert Brunt once noted: “If you can forgive and forget, PICK ONE!” That means you either forgive or forget! Then Robert Tew noted: Don’t let negative and toxic people rent space in your head, raise the rent and kick them out.” Wow! Raise the rent of the space in your head and in your heart! Don’t give room to just anybody to occupy the space because they offended you. Give them quit notice after today’s devotional !
NO MAN OR WOMAN IS WORTH IT, EXCEPT YOUR GOD. A wise women once told her Ex: “My plan is to forgive and forget as follows; forgive myself for being stupid and forget that you ever existed!” Oh, I love that! Life becomes easier when you learn to except the apology you never got! Wow! That means whether people apologize or not, determine not to harbor them in your heart, forgive them and leave them to God the Avenger.
Did He not say that vengeance is mine? God sent His son to die without waiting for any apology from man. And today’s scripture verse 1 says: “Be ye IMITATORS of God…..” As you imitate your Father God, shame will pass over your address! Always be the first to forgive! Heal the past, live the present and dream the future! Pray now!

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
TEXT: " That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;" Philippians 3:10.
In Matthew 22:29, the Lord Jesus said, " ye do err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God ". He is letting us know that the reason people people make mistakes and wrong choices is because they are ignorant of God's word. That means they lack the knowledge of what the spirit of God can do through the power of God's word in their lives.
No wonder Hosea 4:6 says; " my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge ". Proverbs 11:9 says,... Through shall the just be delivered". This simply implies that what you know is what will put you over in life. That is what will give you the advantage. Your challenge is not the problem, but what you don't know. Through knowledge shall you be delivered into your inheritance. The Bible says, " Then shall will know, if we follow on to know " (Hosea 6:3). Your ability to live a victorious, joyous and prosperous life is dependent on how much of God's word you have program into your spirit, so go for knowledge and be a word-addict ( John 1:1, Daniel 9:2, 2Timothy 4:13). You must have a burning desire for the knowledge of God's word.
Study the Bible voraciously (2 Timothy 2:15) and cultivate the habit of acquiring good Christian tapes and books that Will aid your spiritual growth.
