TODAY'S SCRIPTURAL READING: Exo. 2 :1 - 25
TOPIC: KINDNESS TO ONE ANOTHER.
TEXT: " And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.. Ephesians 4 :32.
God has kept on instructing us all through the scripture to love one another and be to each other.
As a matter of fact, the whole laws of Moses in the Old Testament was summarized into LOVE.
For he that can love has fulfilled the whole laws. Now that we are no longer under the law, but under grace, we are still being compared by God to exhibit the kind of love that was demonstrated towards us by his son Jesus Christ.
Jesus loved us not when we were doing what was good and pleasing to him.
Rather; when we were in the midst of our most cruel and wicked state, He chose to demonstrate His unfading love to us.
We are therefore obliged to love and care for one another in spite of our imperfections and short comings because that is the way of God's love.
God did not love us because we were doing something nice and perfect, but because He chose to love us.
We are now expected to in like manner demonstrate kindness to one another.
We naturally forgive one another when we sincerely care for ourselves.
God therefore expects and wants us to be tender heartedly kind to one another in spite of error or wrong we might have done to each other.
PRAYER
O God, my Father; help me to demonstrate a genuine kindness towards my neighbor in Jesus name.
