TODAY'S READING - John 7:10-31

TOPIC: SAY NO TO EYE SERVICE

TEXT: "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;" Colossians 3:23

It is common among the People of the world to do things to beholding of men in order to secure praises for themselves.

But in the kingdom, it is not so, you are instructed as a kingdom citizen to heartily do whatsoever you do as unto the Lord, not unto men. It is consistent with the fallen nature of man to only things seriously when eyes are watching and decline in passion and vigour when there seems to be no one watching. Such an act is referred to as eye service. Little wonder you are instructed by God not to be conformed to this world (cosmos) but rather to be transformed by the renewing of the mind.

 (Roman 12:2).
When you are conscious of God's reward, what men say about you when you do things wholeheartedly will not matter to you.
But when you chose to mind the sayings of men, the reverse is the case. Never forget that men at best can only award you, reward only comes from God. The best position ever is to be in a state that is rewardable by God, though detestable in the sight of men. Never lose focus of your kingdom pursuit, stay glued to servicing the will of the Father, not the desires and commendations of mortal men.
This day marks a new beginning in your life.

            PRAYER
My Father, My Maker, as I begin to pray, every spirit of eye service plaguing my life be frustrated by fire.
